Acceptance of these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and Maaz Buk. By opening an account, or using the service in any way, you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of a business, you are confirming you are allowed to bind that business.
They include the acceptable use policy and, if you publish an online shop, the online shop terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
Who you are contracting with
The service is provided by Maaz Buk, a business based in Magboro, Ogun State, Nigeria.
“Maaz Buk”, “we” and “us” mean that business. “You” means the business holding the account, and everyone you give access to it.
What the service is
Maaz Buk is a business management app that helps businesses see where their money came from and where it went. You record your sales, stock, expenses and payments, and Maaz Buk works out your stock levels, what your customers owe you, and your profit.
Recording and reporting
Sales, stock and batches, customers and credit, invoices, expenses, production and cost per unit, and the reports built from them. Which of these you get depends on your plan, as set out on the pricing page.
The online shop
A shop page on maazbuk.shop where your customers order and pay. It is on the Business plan and up, and during the trial, and is governed by the online shop terms.
What it does not do
It needs an internet connection to record. It does not arrange delivery, book riders or couriers, or track deliveries on a map.
We may add to the service and change how parts of it work. If we remove something you are paying for, we will tell you before we do.
Your account
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. The details you give us have to be true, and each business under your login is its own set of records.
You are responsible for everything done under your account, including by staff you invite. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, whether you sign in with a password or with Google. If you think someone else has them, change them and tell us.
People on the account
Each plan allows a number of people to sign in, you included: 2 on Sales Book, 3 on Business, 6 on Manufacturer, 15 on Multi-outlet. The free trial allows 3 people and 1 business.
You decide what each person can see through their role. Someone with the sales role can record sales without seeing costs or margins. Removing someone ends their access immediately. Their past entries stay in the record, under their name.
The seven-day trial
You can start one free trial per account, from the plan screen in the app. It runs for seven days with every feature on, and no card is needed. Nothing is charged, and it does not turn into a paid plan on its own.
When the trial ends, choose a plan to keep recording. If you do not, the account becomes read-only: you can still open and read everything you recorded, but you cannot add to it.
Plans, prices and payment
Prices are in naira and charged monthly in advance: Sales Book at ₦3,500, Business at ₦9,000, Manufacturer at ₦18,000, Multi-outlet at ₦35,000 a month. Payments are taken by Paystack, our payment processor. We do not store your card details.
Moving up a plan takes effect immediately. Moving down takes effect at your next renewal. If a change would put you over a limit, such as more people than the smaller plan allows, you have to settle that first.
We may change our prices. A new price applies from your next renewal, never to a month you have already paid for, and we will tell you before it does, so you can cancel instead.
WHAT WE DO NOT CHARGE
We take no percentage of your sales and no fee per invoice. Payments your customers make in your online shop go through Paystack, and Paystack’s own fees apply to them.
Late payment and suspension
If a renewal payment does not go through, you have one day to pay, and the account works as normal during that day. After that, it becomes read-only until you pay. Nothing is deleted, and you can still read everything.
We may suspend an account or a shop immediately if it is used for fraud, to sell anything illegal or prohibited, or in a way that puts other users or the service at risk. We will tell you why, and give you the chance to respond.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from inside the account. Cancelling stops the next charge. You keep the service until the end of the month you have already paid for.
Your records are yours
Everything you put into Maaz Buk, and everything worked out from it, belongs to you. We do not sell it, rent it, or give it to lenders, suppliers, data brokers or advertisers.
We hold it to run the service for you and for no other purpose. You can read it in the app at any time, including when the account is read-only. If you want a copy of your records, write to hello@maazbuk.com and we will send it to you in a common format.
Your content, and our name
You keep ownership of what you upload, such as product names, descriptions and photos. You give us permission to store it, process it and, for your online shop, display it publicly, only as needed to run the service for you. That permission ends when the content is deleted.
The Maaz Buk name, logo, software and designs belong to us. Using the service does not give you any right to them. If you send us suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.
Acceptable use
Use Maaz Buk to run a business honestly. What that rules out, including the goods that may not be sold, is set out in the acceptable use policy. Breaking it is a breach of these terms.
When we handle your customers’ data
The records you keep about your customers, including your shop’s buyers, are yours to control. We process them on your behalf, and in the language of the Nigeria Data Protection Act you are the controller and we are the processor. For that data, we will:
- process it only to run the service for you, and on your instructions as given through the app;
- make sure our staff who can reach it are bound to keep it confidential, and that support access is read-only, time-limited and logged;
- keep it secure with measures suited to the risk;
- use only the service providers named in the privacy policy, and tell you before we add a new one;
- tell you without undue delay if we become aware of a breach affecting it;
- help you answer your customers’ requests to see, correct or delete their data;
- delete it when you ask us to after the agreement ends, unless the law requires us to keep part of it;
- give you the information you reasonably need to show you are meeting your own duties.
You are responsible for having the right to collect what you record, and for telling your customers how you use it.
Availability and support
We run the service with care, but we do not promise a particular uptime figure. We will give notice of planned maintenance where we can.
Support is by email at hello@maazbuk.com or on WhatsApp, in English, during Nigerian working hours.
What the numbers are, and are not
Maaz Buk works out figures from what you record. If a cost was never entered, it does not guess: it shows cost not recorded instead of a number. The figures are only as accurate as what was recorded.
Nothing in the service is accounting, tax, legal or financial advice. Reports are a record of your own entries, not a certified statement. Have them checked by someone qualified before you rely on them for tax, a loan, or the sale of your business.
Liability
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or free of faults, and we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, or losses that follow from a figure entered incorrectly.
Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or ₦10,000 if you have not paid us anything.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Claims about what you sell
You are responsible for the goods and services you sell, and for your dealings with your customers. If someone brings a claim against us because of something you sold, a promise you made to a customer, or your breach of these terms or the law, you will cover our losses and costs from it.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. If a change affects your price, what you get, or how your records are handled, we will email you before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page will change.
If you keep using the service after that date, you accept the new terms. If you do not accept them, cancel.
Ending the agreement
You may end it at any time by cancelling and asking us to close the account. We may end it if you break these terms, if payment stops, or if we stop offering the service. Except where we have to act immediately, we will give you reasonable notice first.
After the account closes, we keep your records in case you come back or want a copy, and for as long as the law requires. If you want them deleted sooner, write to privacy@maazbuk.com and we will delete them, apart from anything the law requires us to keep.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
If a dispute arises, write to us at hello@maazbuk.com with the details. Both of us will try in good faith to settle it within 30 days of your message.
If it is not settled within 30 days, either of us may refer it to arbitration under the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023. There will be one arbitrator, agreed by both of us or, if we cannot agree within 14 days, appointed by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), Nigeria Branch. The arbitration will take place in Abeokuta, Ogun State, and be conducted in English. The arbitrator’s decision is final and binding on both of us.
Either of us may still ask the courts of Ogun State for urgent relief, or to enforce the arbitrator’s decision.
The rest of the agreement
These terms, together with the policies they refer to, are the whole agreement between us about the service. If a court or arbitrator finds part of them unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right immediately, we have not given it up. You may not transfer the agreement to someone else without our written consent.
