Who this applies to
This policy applies to every account holder and every member of staff with access to a Maaz Buk account, and to every shop published on maazbuk.shop.
What you may not do
- use the service for fraud, or to keep records meant to mislead a lender, buyer, investor, insurer or tax authority;
- record or upload anyone’s personal data that you had no right to collect;
- send buyers or customers messages they did not ask for, or harass anyone;
- upload content that infringes someone else’s rights, such as copied product photos or someone else’s brand;
- attack the service, probe it for weaknesses, work around its limits, or take data from it other than through the app;
- resell, rent out or re-brand the service as your own.
What may not be sold
No shop on maazbuk.shop may list or sell:
- anything whose sale is illegal in Nigeria, or that you are not licensed to sell;
- illegal drugs, and medicines that need a prescription or NAFDAC registration they do not have;
- weapons, ammunition, explosives and fireworks;
- stolen goods, and counterfeit or pirated goods;
- sexual content or services;
- gambling, lotteries and betting;
- investment schemes, foreign exchange, cryptocurrency trading, loans, and anything that looks like a pyramid or Ponzi scheme;
- fake documents, identity papers or certificates;
- protected wildlife, and human remains or organs;
- hazardous chemicals sold without the licences they need;
- anything promoting violence, terrorism or hatred.
Goods that need extra care
Some goods can be sold, but only by following the rules that apply to them: food, drinks and cosmetics that need NAFDAC registration; alcohol and tobacco, which may not be sold to anyone under 18; and anything regulated by a licence. If you sell these, you are responsible for meeting those rules.
What we do when the rules are broken
Depending on how serious the breach is, we may require you to remove content, remove a product listing, suspend your shop, or suspend or close your account. Where there is fraud or there are illegal goods, we will act immediately, and we may report the matter to the relevant authorities and to Paystack. In other cases, we will tell you first and give you the chance to put it right.
Reporting a problem
If you see a shop or product that breaks these rules, write to hello@maazbuk.com, or message us on WhatsApp, with a link to it. We review every report.
Changes
We may update this policy as the law and our payment partners’ rules change. If a change affects what you already sell, we will tell you before it applies.
