About the facts on Kippa
What happened to Kippa
Kippa launched its bookkeeping app in 2021. It let small businesses record income and expenses, create invoices and receipts, manage inventory and keep track of customers who owed them.
In October 2023 Kippa laid off staff and closed its KippaPay agent banking product. From January 2024 the bookkeeping app itself stopped working for users, who were locked out of their inventory, transactions, debtors and invoices. Kippa made no public announcement.
When we checked in September 2026, the app was no longer listed on Google Play, we could not find it in Nigeria's App Store, and kippa.africa did not load. We found no way to get old records back.
